Big S and Pace Wu grew up together in Taiwan and then both became famous, one of a rare case of best friends hitting stardom around the same time. Both actresses and singers, they are making a big splash in the movie field after having dominated TV shows in their native hometown of Taipei. It’s there that we were able to spend an afternoon with them and ask if fortune and fame had changed their beautiful friendship.

She is a muse to the prince of pretty, Philip Lim, and has been photographed by the world’s top photographers, including Annie Leibowitz, Patrick Demarchelier, and Steven Meisel, who shot her for an all-models cover of US Vogue. She got an early start modeling with Ford Models at the age of 12, and now at the still tender age of 19, her fresh face is unforgettable as ever, posing for editorials and ad campaigns around the world. But she still calls Los Angeles home, where she works as a buyer and occasional shopgirl for her mother’s new shop, The Red Bag Boutique. We caught up with Chanel Iman at the store to talk shopping, family, and California style.

She adopted the western name Gianna and learned to speak English for the movie, making her a serious contender to become the first truly global Korean star. We spoke with Jun Ji-Hyun in Seoul about her booming career, her personal life and what makes Korean women so gracious and unique.
