From the humble beginnings of his life in Taipei, London-based Johan Ku has made a name for himself in his native country. Raised by a single mother, the former graphic designer changed careers to follow his artistic dreams, and is currently taking the fashion world by storm. Entering with a collection he titled “Emotional Sculpture”, Ku won the Avant-Garde division of the Gen Art Styles competition in New York, the first time ever for a Taiwanese native. Unsatisfied with the limitations of the fashion industry in Taiwan, he has set his sights abroad, and is a fashion designer worth watching in the years to come.
