The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal

Spread the love

Until recently, some people called Pedro Pascal, Pascal Pedro. But he didn’t mind it. After years of struggle in the New York theater scene, Pascal takes things in stride. It took Game of Thrones, playing the part of Oberyn Martell, to make Pedro Pascal a household name, at the age of 37. He had studied drama in NYU, and had a small part in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but apart from that had very small parts in cop shows on TV – until that call from Westeros. After playing opposite Denzel Washington in Equalizer 2, Pascal was able to show his language skills by playing agent Javier Pena in the Netflix biographical crime series Narcos – part of the dialog was in his native Spanish. He also starred as Agent Whiskey in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Another turning point is his first venture in the Star Wars universe, playing the mysterious character The Mandalorian, on Disney’s streaming service Disney+. He also played villain Maxwell Lord in the new Wonder Woman movie. We had the opportunity to meet Pedro Pascal and discuss New York, miming and sign language.
